    About our Speakers

    Brandon Bir, Crimson Cup

    Brandon Bir is a coffee and tea professional with a passion for sustainability and international community development. When not trekking up a mountain on a remote coffee farm or developing new drinks at the Innovation Lab in Columbus, Bir can be found representing Crimson Cup at a growing number of stateside and international coffee competitions. Bir also travels to coffee-growing countries to teach classes focused on quality, sustainability, and the organic chemistry of coffee.

    In his role as Director of Education and Sustainability, Bir and his team develop coffee education courses for both coffee enthusiasts and coffee professionals. Brandon is a certified Q-Grader, SCA AST instructor, SCA Lab Inspector, and holds an MBA from the University of Wisconsin.

    Corey Parrett, BrewDog

    As the Downtown territory manager for Columbus, Corey Parrett loves all the independence that comes with being in sales. Having enjoyed BrewDog beer while in Europe, he had followed the brand long before they announced the new brewery in none other than his hometown of Columbus, Ohio. After the announcement, he knew he wanted to be a part of the team. 

    His job requires a lot of self-motivation – “you are expected to perform at BrewDog and if you are self-motivated and like to be on the move, like I do, you will be successful.” Another reason he is into sales? Some of his accounts are also his favorite bars – Old Town Tavern, The Walrus, Bodega & Oddfellows - just to name a few. Sharing a love of craft beer with bar owners and people around the city is what makes the job interesting and fun.

    C. David Wolf, The Ohio State University

    With his education taking place at La Varenne Ecole d’Cuisine, Paris France, The International School of Confectionery Arts, The Culinary Institute of America, St. Helena, and The Greenbrier, White Sulfur Springs, West Virginia, Chef C. David Wolf is a 20 year member of The American Culinary Federation, World Association of Cooks, and the esteemed Commanderie des Costes du Rhone. Chef Wolf holds a seat on the Columbus State Community College Advisory Board in addition to Eastland and SW Career and Tec secondary schools. He is the American Culinary Federation Columbus Chapter Chairman of the Apprenticeship Committee in addition to serving a four-year term as Chapter President.

    With numerous awards and recognition to his name, Chef Wolf accepted a position with The Ohio State University Offices of Student Life as the Culinary Training Instructor within Dinning Services Administration team in August 2016. His dual role serves as a primary liaison between the university’s Hospitality Management Program and Dining Services Management team. Strivng to ensure the integration of theory and practice, mentoring students acquiring culinary skills, techniques and an understanding of professional kitchen terminology in addition to the basics in culinary arts, Chef Wolf instructs and coordinates all special events in the Instructional Kitchen at the Ohio Union, providing hand on demonstrations with oversight on practical cooking performances aligned in teams for successful outcomes.
