This presentation is designed for anyone in an event related business and focuses on the often forgotten foundations and applications of the one of the world’s oldest professions, no not that one, food serving! Learn new skills and applications on the basic sales principals and techniques. Through food service analogies, the session will cover enhanced fundamentals of sales solicitation, client and account management, revenue maximization, communication, creating personal relationships and superior customer service. The session is designed to provide managers with proven best practices to become a more productive and proactive salesperson and how to avoid the daily challenges and distractions that affect productivity and customer satisfaction.

Gil has over 30 years of sales and operations experience in the hospitality industry, working in various positions with Omni, Marriott and Hyatt Hotels.  He also has extensive off premise catering and convention center experience with the Kansas City Convention Center and Pennsylvania Convention Centers. He is a five time Director of Catering Sales and Convention Services and was Vice President and General Manager of ProAct Events Group and Kansas City Scenery. He is a Past National Board Member and Vice President of the National Association for Catering and Events (NACE) and a current board member with the Philadelphia/South Jersey/ Delaware Chapter of NACE. He has also been a member of ICA and MPI and a past board member of the Kansas City Chapter of MPI. He has won numerous awards for his program production, special event planning and dedicated service to the industry.

Gil is actively engaged as a presenter, guest speaker, moderator and industry panelist for multiple NACE, MPI, SGMP, NBTA and university programs and educational conferences. He currently heads GT & H Hospitality Consultants, assisting a variety of hospitality based companies and startups in achieving their goals through aggressive sales and marketing strategies, profit improvement, market expansion and superior customer service.
